Which university is best for law in South Africa?

There is no single best one; they all give the LLB. What matters is your marks, getting articles later, and where you can afford to study.

Should I do the LLB, or a BA or BCom Law first?

The four-year LLB is the direct route. A three-year BA or BCom Law, then a two-year LLB, gives you a broader base and takes a year longer. Both end in the LLB.

Do TVET colleges offer law?

TVET colleges do not offer the LLB degree, which is at universities. They offer paralegal and legal secretary courses, which are legal support jobs, not lawyers.

Can I study law by distance?

Yes. You can study the LLB by distance, for example through UNISA. This suits people who work while they study.
