WSU uses standard best 6. Your best 6 NSC subjects are converted to APS points using the standard bands: 90 to 100% = 8, 80 to 89% = 7, 70 to 79% = 6, 60 to 69% = 5, 50 to 59% = 4, 40 to 49% = 3, 30 to 39% = 2, and 0 to 29% = 1. Life Orientation is excluded from the core APS total. WSU excludes Life Orientation for most programmes, though the Faculty of Education can take a broader view.

Walter Sisulu University (WSU) sits across four towns in the Eastern Cape: Mthatha, Butterworth, Buffalo City, and Komani. It’s known for practical degrees in health sciences, education, business, and technology.
Campus and residence
WSU has residences in all four towns, but you need to apply early because they fill up fast. For some campuses, like Butterworth or Mthatha, res fees can be around R17,500 to R46,400 for the year, depending on the residence.
