Stellenbosch is known for tough entry requirements and top rankings. You need strong marks, like 65% or higher for some courses, to become a Matie.

www.sun.ac.za is the official Stellenbosch University site. Always confirm programme cutoffs in the current prospectus before you apply.
Stellenbosch no longer uses a traditional APS. It uses a percentage aggregate across your best 6 NSC subjects, excluding Life Orientation, for a score out of 100%.
Faculties publish minimum aggregates: most degrees need around 60% to 70%, and selection programmes like Medicine and Actuarial Sciences need mid-80s or higher with strong Maths and Physical Sciences.
Not in the traditional sense. Life Orientation is excluded. Uses percentage aggregate, not traditional APS.
