What it costs and how to pay

The BEd degree costs about R35,000 to R70,000 a year at a university. The Funza Lushaka bursary and NSFAS can pay this for you.

Teaching has strong money help, because the country needs teachers. Most students use one of these.

Funza Lushaka Bursary

This is the big teaching bursary. It pays for your full studies if you train to teach a subject the country needs, like Maths, Science, or a language. After you finish, you must teach at a public school for the same number of years it paid for you.
