UNIZULU calculates APS (Admission Point Score) using the NSC rating system, where each subject’s percentage is converted to a point value. For example, 80-100% earns 8 points, 70-79% earns 7 points, and so on down to 10-29%, which earns 1 point. The university typically requires an APS of 30-36 for degree programmes, depending on the faculty and course. Additionally, applicants must score at least 30% in the language of learning and teaching and achieve a rating of 4 (50-59%) or better in four designated subjects. Meeting the APS requirement does not guarantee admission, as selection is competitive and also considers faculty-specific criteria.
