How to Apply
I know online application portals can feel like a maze, but CUT's process is actually pretty straightforward if you take it step by step. Apply online at enroll.cut.ac.za or start through cut.ac.za's admission page. Your application window for 2027 opens on 13 May 2026 and closes on 30 September 2026, and CUT doesn't accept late or walk-in applications. Online applications are free, but a manual application costs R100 if you're submitting paper forms instead.
Have your SA ID or passport ready, along with your Grade 12 results and any supporting documents to upload. If your results are already on the Department of Basic Education system, they load automatically. Otherwise you add each subject and mark by hand. Once you've applied, check your status anytime at urkey.cut.ac.za/checkappstatus.

Know what you're applying for
Before you apply, work out what you're interested in studying and check whether you meet the entry requirements — it decides which programmes are worth putting on your application.
Documents you'll need
- Certified copy of your ID or passport
- Certified copy of your latest results (Grade 11 or matric, whichever you have)
- Academic transcript — only if you're a transfer student from another institution
- SAQA evaluation — only if you did your schooling outside South Africa
- Proof of residence — only if you're applying for a res spot
Don't forget NSFAS
NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme) is a separate application from your university application, with its own closing date. Applying to Central University of Technology does not apply you for NSFAS — you need to do both.

Register with your ID number and contact details.

Add your certified ID and results, plus anything else the portal asks for.

Pay the application fee if there is one, and keep your reference number.
