How to Apply
I know online application portals can feel like a maze, but take it one step at a time and you'll get through it. Apply through the UMP Self Help iEnabler portal at ienabler.ump.ac.za, or start at ump.ac.za and follow the application link. Applications for 2027 open on 1 June 2026 and close on 30 November 2026, and the application fee is R200.
Have your certified ID copy, your latest school results, and proof of your application fee payment ready before you start. You'll fill in your personal details first to generate a student number and PIN, then log back in to finish the rest. Programs can fill up before the official closing date, so don't leave it for the last week.

Know what you're applying for
Before you apply, work out what you're interested in studying and check whether you meet the entry requirements — it decides which programmes are worth putting on your application.
Documents you'll need
- Certified copy of your ID or passport
- Certified copy of your latest results (Grade 11 or matric, whichever you have)
- Academic transcript — only if you're a transfer student from another institution
- SAQA evaluation — only if you did your schooling outside South Africa
- Proof of residence — only if you're applying for a res spot
Don't forget NSFAS
NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme) is a separate application from your university application, with its own closing date. Applying to University of Mpumalanga does not apply you for NSFAS — you need to do both.

Applying

Find the online application or admissions portal.

Create your application profile
Register with your ID number and contact details.

Upload your documents
Add your certified ID and results, plus anything else the portal asks for.

Submit before the closing date
Pay the application fee if there is one, and keep your reference number.
