Mangosuthu University of Technology calculates APS (Admission Point Score) based on the best five subjects presented by the applicant. For the National Senior Certificate, points are allocated according to achievement levels: Level 7 (80–89%) earns 7 points, Level 6 (70–79%) earns 6 points, and so on down to Level 4 (50–59%), which earns 4 points. Diploma studies typically require a minimum APS of 25 points, with at least five subjects at Level 4 or higher. Some departments conduct entrance tests in addition to APS requirements.
