Use the remainder theorem Grade 12
Find the remainder when a polynomial is divided by (x - a) by working out f(a), or use a given remainder to find an unknown coefficient, for example f(x) = x^3 + kx - 4 divided by x - 2 leaves 6, so 8 + 2k - 4 = 6 and k = 1.
