Free State past paper questions

Where can I get Free State past papers?

On this page. There are 67 Free State papers here, 2018 to 2026, free to download as PDFs with their memos. They were set by the Free State Department of Education for the schools it runs.

Where do I find Free State papers for my subject?

The list above shows every subject we hold Free State papers for and how many there are. Tap a subject to open its full archive, which carries the Free State papers alongside the national ones and the other provinces, so you can work through more than one version of the same paper.

Which exams does Free State set?

The ones here are May/June (Term 2), September (Term 3), Feb/March (Term 1), November (Term 4). A province sets the papers its own schools write through the year, including the September preparatory exams that Grade 12 writes as a rehearsal for the finals.

Can I use Free State papers if I am in another province?

Yes. Every province teaches the same CAPS curriculum and every matric writes the same national paper in November, so a Free State paper tests the same content yours will. It is worth writing whichever papers you can get, and we do not hold papers for every province because not every department publishes them online.
