Let us be honest: matric opens the most doors, and most careers that pay well need it. But not having matric yet does not mean you are stuck. You have two good moves, and you can do both at once: get your matric, and start a course that does not need it.
Get your matric first
It is worth it, and you can do it for free. The Department of Basic Education runs the Second Chance Matric Programme to help you pass or improve subjects. You can also do adult matric or the GETC at a community college.
Study without matric now
You can start a real qualification without matric. A TVET NC(V) course takes learners from Grade 9, and a learnership pays you while you train.
