Why Grade 11 matters more than most learners expect
Universities open applications while you are in matric, before you have any matric marks. So what they look at is your final Grade 11 results. The University of Johannesburg says it directly: learners in Grade 12 must apply using their final Grade 11 results.
The offer you get is a provisional one, made on those Grade 11 marks and confirmed later against your NSC result. Grade 11 opens the door. Matric keeps it open.
That means these papers are worth more than practice. Work out your APS on your Grade 11 marks and you will know a whole year early whether the course you want is within reach, while there is still time to move.
